A co-worker and I voiced the same opinion about how wonderful it is to live right now, when technology has brought us so many wonders.

Yes, there are horrors from technology. But those horrors are no worse than those of the past (like say The Black Death). Especially when you stack today's horrors against somethings like an iPhone, Nintendo, and the internet (only a few examples).
