  So, no Rapture... huh  |  May 21, 2011  |

I really wish that this Rapture business today would mean the end of people trying to predict the end of the world. But, I know it isn't. I know that there's always going to be someone that predicts the end of the world even though they are sure to look like dopes afterward.

What's sad to me is the attitude of the people who believe this sort of "end of days" stuff. Because it frames their lives, and presents a portrait of a person that is too busy trying to get into the "next" world to do anything worthwhile while on this world. All we have is the here and now. The past, the future, is nothing. All we can ever know is that we're here right now. Too bad those who supposedly strive to reach Heaven don't really do much here on Earth to justify their ascension.
