I'm an English major, but I can't spell for shit. I do all right most of the time since I can always look up a word -- but then sometimes I find that a common word, like say "silence" will suddenly look wrong to me -- I'll look at it -- and in my mind I think "It seems like I spelled it right, but something about it seems off." That will drive me crazy because even after I look up the word, and confirm that I spelled it right, I still look at the word as if I misspelled it.
