I work with a girl that fancies herself a photographer. She had a paying gig recently, which has convinced her to pursue the path of a professional photographer... for weddings and such. That�s fine and well, and I don�t want to badmouth her because she�s not a bad person.

However... she is not a very good photographer, to say the least. Her photography lacks not only an eye for things, but are devoid of any craft. When she photographs something she distills it of everything that�s interesting and presents the leftovers as a visual banality for the world. And THAT is my problem with her wanting to be a photographer. Her eye needs to be honed before she gets delusions of grandeur. She�s a good person, but a pretty lousy photographer (right now). She could get better, but it�s still a long way aways. Good luck to her though.
