Today a guy came into work to borrow some books -- he had fines, which I waived without even telling him I did so... just because he stuck me like a nice older gentleman. His son-in-law came back a few moments after I had checked the books out to ask about the fines. I told him I had seen them and waived them. He nodded, and I felt good that I hadn't said a thing about any fines. He man didn't return the books back on time because his wife had died the previous week.
